Marie-Hélène-Prémont Bike Trail

A majestic bycicle network in Québec city region
Named after a local Olympic hero, the Marie-Hélène-Prémont Bike Trail is close to 55 km long. The vast trail, which was created by extending the bike path at the foot of Montmorency Falls, combines nature, culture, and sport and leads to both Cap Tourmente Wildlife Area and the amazing mountain biking trails at Mont-Sainte-Anne.
Indeed, the Marie-Helene Premont Bike Trail is a unique segment to Quebec because it runs La Route de la Nouvelle-France, one of the oldest thoroughfares in North America. On this way you can discover over 2000 heritage buildings of stone and wood, old-fashioned barns, roadside crosses, processional chapels or vegetable cellars.
Furthermore, the bike trail has been certified Green Road in the summer of 2009, up from Boischatel to Beaupré. Amenities such picnic tables, bike racks, trash cans and wide area maps have also been added along the route to the delight of cyclists. The development of the Bike Trail continues, as it is quite possible that in 2010, cyclists can ride from Beaupré to Saint-Tite-des-Caps, via Saint-Ferréol-les-Neiges.
